Gagetown Artisan Shop has a new opportunity to showcase up and coming new artists along with accomplished Artisans and craftspeople in the hopes that this will be the beginning of an exciting adventure.
Craft NB Members are invited to sell their product on consignment beginning during the long weekend in May until the shop’s closure in December after their 12 Weekends of Christmas and Christmas in the Village.
The shop operates on a commission rate of 70/30 with 70% going to the artist. A sliding commission rate is offered to the artists who are willing to do volunteer work at the shop for 2-4 days a month, similarly to a co-op.
Artisans that join the shop this season would be given the opportunity to be involved in Pop Up Events during happenings in the Village. Members can then determine if it’s best to work on a setup fee or a 90% commission to the artists is they’re present to operate their table, tent or booth. Additional opportunities include hosting workshops if desired.
The idea of showcasing up and coming new artists along with accomplished Artisans and Crafts people excites me. My hope is that this will be the beginning of an exciting adventure for years to come.
