Where will you be on your long weekend of  July 3rd? Hopefully at Craft NB’s Summer Fest in the charming Village of Gagetown, that’s where!

This one day event will be packed with wonderful high quality handmade craft from the Atlantic region. These vendors aren’t your regular sparkly popsicle stick krafters (not that there’s anything wrong with that type of creativity, we love all creative endeavours!) but this crew have all been dedicated to their practices for years, honing their skills, perfecting their techniques, educating themselves in their art, and have had their work assessed and evaluated and have reached a professional level in their practice. This does not mean that everything at the festival will be out of your price range, there will be something for every budget! It does mean though, that when you come to a Craft NB festival you are going to see the best of the best of what our local area has to offer.

Not only will the Craft NB Summer Fest have 20+ members selling their work, but they have also invited some other friends along for the day. Grimross Farms will be on site with a fibre animal petting zoo (think soft fuzzy adorable angora bunnies, and attention loving, divinely textured, cashmere goats!) as well as ceramic demonstrations from the talented Danika Vautour. Melanie Hamilton, of Wooden Leg Studio, will be on site showcasing her work and talking about her approach to design and craft.

Monks & Jonsie are bringing their gastro truck, and Craft NB will also be selling their popular and punny clothing line. Neeta Hathi will be on site offering beautiful henna tattoos.  Flo Greig and Juggler’s Cover Pottery studios are right next to the event, and Maja Padrov’s ceramic studio is right around the corner.

These Craft NB members will be open to welcome you all day long to their home studios.  Parking and admission are free and lemonade will be available by donation with proceeds helping Craft NB provide these kinds of opportunities and events, connecting local makers to communities across the province.

While organizing this event, Craft NB staff have been in close contact with the Province of New Brunswick to ensure all Covid Protocols are in place, ensuring the safety of vendors and visitors alike. Please be aware that if you are joining us for this event, we ask that you bring and wear masks. Hand sanitizer will be available on site.

Along with all the fabulous craft and other offerings at the festival, why not visit the charming village while you’re here? A map will be available on site to direct you to, The Gagetown Distilling & Cidery, The Creekview Restaurant, The Gagetown Artisans Shop, Steamers Bed and Breakfast,  Geek’s Ice Cream, Rotary Park boat launch, and many other local attractions that are all within a short walk from the craft festival.

Queens County Heritage would also like to personally welcome you to the historic Village of Gagetown, birthplace of Sir Leonard Tilley, Father of Confederation. Visit them at the Tilley House, 69 Front Street from 10-5 pm or join them for a Walking Tour of Front Street starting at 3pm. They’re looking forward to seeing you!

If you’re coming to visit the festival from the Hampton/Rothesay area, you can actually take 2-3 ferries and travel along glorious rural roads with magnificent views to get to the village!

What a way to spend the day! Get a hold of your friends, share the event details, and plan a beautiful day trip right here in New Brunswick! Please note that the rain date for this event will be the following weekend, on Saturday July 10th.
