Events Calendar | Find out what’s happening!

We are launching some exciting new initiatives for Craft NB!  The first, being our brand new Events Calendar.  This calendar not only lists current and upcoming Craft NB organized events, but also features events that our juried members are a part of! Residencies, exhibitions, festival and shows, classes and workshops, Open studio days etc., this calendar will be the hub of what’s going on in the Craft NB world.  The calendar is easy to use, and you can search by event or by juried member to see what’s going on!

Juried members – log into your account and click on the ‘Member – Add Events’ tab. Here you’ll find the google form to submit any events you are part of to be added to the calendar!

The next new and exciting initiative is our Craft NB Interactive Map! This map shows all of our members with public profiles, links to their websites, and any additional information they want the public to know! We love being able to see how far our membership stretches. Also included in this map are our affiliates, and of course, an event map which links to the events calendar. This map will soon be embedded on our website, and will also be available on Google Maps.

Garrison Night Market | Looking for craft Vendors

The Garrison Night Market in Fredericton is also looking for craft vendors, specifically craftspeople focusing in pottery, glass work, fine art.  This market takes place in downtown Fredericton every Thursday night, rain or shine!  It seems to be quite the hit, especially on sunny nights, with food vendors and live entertainment!

Canadian Crafts Federation | In search of a new ED

Big changes coming to the Canadian Crafts Federation. After 16 years, good friend of the organization, Meagen Black has stepped down as Executive Director of the Cnadian Crafts Federation and is moving forward with a career as Associate Dean at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design.  It’ll be a tall order to fill her shoes but we are ehopful that the right person will come along!  From the CCFMA:

“With this announcement, we have posted the role of Executive Director for the CCF/FCMA.  Please spread the word far and wide.  A leadership change such as this affords an exciting opportunity to adapt, change, and grow.  As we always have, the CCF/FCMA will continue to create connections and champion craft as a federation of organizations that lift each other up, uniting the contemporary craft sector in Canada.

Our current plans are to continue with our same projects, and events, employing an interim operational plan, until such time as we are able to welcome our new Executive Director. “

We wish you the best of luck, Meagen!
