Please welcome CRAIG SCHNEIDER as the curator for the Beneath the Surface 2019 Residency! We are so delighted to have such a passionate, and talented craftsperson at the helm. With his many years of teaching experience and kind nature, this year’s residency will be a rich and inspiring experience that is not to be missed!

Craig Schneider holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from NSCAD University, a Diploma in Fine Craft (Ceramics) from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, and a Certificate in Advanced Psychotherapy and Counseling from Eastwind Institute.

Schneider’s studio practice covers a 40-year period during which time he has been the recipient of Creation grants from both the Canada Council and the New Brunswick Arts Board for both his ceramic and metal sculpture. This work has been exhibited in both group and solo shows throughout the Maritimes. Schneider’s work has been included in the permanent collections of the New Brunswick Art Bank, the University of New Brunswick and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. He taught ceramic production and self-sufficiency for two years in Zambia as part of a CUSO project, and has led several workshops in art and human development as well as in ceramics and kiln building.
